We take pride in offering the latest technologies to our patients, knowing that a piece of equipment is only as good as the expert team behind it.

  • Leading-edge neurosurgical suites

Eight recently renovated surgical suites at IU Health Methodist Hospital are fully integrated and streamlined to perform complex neurosurgical procedures in a safe and efficient environment. The suites feature the most advanced surgical tools, imaging technologies and surgical navigation systems, as well as remote viewing capabilities.

  • Intraoperative MRI scanner (IMRIS)

As the first-of-its-kind in the state, the IMRIS enables doctors to see brain tumors more clearly during surgery so they can operate with a higher level of safety and accuracy.

  • Proton therapy

Administered in affiliation with the IU Health Proton Therapy Center, proton therapy is a leading-edge alternative therapy for rare and complex cancers. It is an ultra-precise, noninvasive procedure, which minimizes damage to surrounding tissues. And side effects are generally nonexistent or minimal.

  • NICO Myriad

IU Health Neuroscience is the first adult hospital in the Midwest, and first children’s hospital in world, to offer this fully automated device that helps neurosurgeons remove hard-to-reach tumors in the brain and spine.

  • 24/7 real-time continuous neuro-monitoring

IU Health Neuroscience is the only program in the nation that provides 24-hour brain neuromonitoring, in real time, by onsite experts. This model enables faster, more accurate diagnoses and critical real-time observation of a medication’s effectiveness.
